First-aid measures

Description of first aid measuresGeneral information- Personal protection for the First Aider.- Take affected persons out of danger area and instruct to lie down.- Instantly remove any clothing soiled by the product.- Remove breathing apparatus only after soiled clothing has been completely removed. After inhalation- Supply fresh air.- In case of unconsciousness bring patient into stable side position for transport.- Seek medical treatment. After skin contact- After contact with the hot product, cool rapidly with cold water (in case of elevated storage- and transport temperature).- Do not pull solidified product away from the skin (in case of elevated storage- and transport temperature).- Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.- Seek medical treatment. After eye contact- Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water.- Seek medical treatment. After swallowing- Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water.- Do not induce vomiting; instantly call for medical help. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed - No further relevant information available.Information for doctor - Therapeutically measures: basic help, decontamination, symptomatic treatment.Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed- No further relevant information available.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing mediaSuitable extinguishing agents - CO2, extinguishing powder or water jet. Fight larger fire with foam. For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents - Water with a full water jet.Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture- Can be released in case of fire- Carbon monoxide (CO)Advice for firefightersProtective equipment:- Do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases.- Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.Additional information - Cool endangered containers with water spray jet.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures- Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.Environmental precautions: - Do not allow product to reach sewage system or water bodies. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:- Ensure adequate ventilation.- Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust).- Send for recovery or disposal in suitable containers.Reference to other sections - See Section "Handling and storage" for information on safe handling - See Section "Exposure controls/personal protection" for information on personal protection equipment.- See Section "Disposal considerations" for information on disposal.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling - Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.Information about protection against explosions and fires:- Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.- Protect against electrostatic charges.Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilitiesStorageRequirements to be met by storerooms and containers: - No special requirements.Information about storage in one common storage facility: - Store away from oxidising agents.Further information about storage conditions: - Keep container tightly sealed.Specific end use(s) - No further relevant information available.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controlsPersonal protective equipmentGeneral protective and hygienic measures- The usual precautionary measures should be adhered to general rules for handling chemicals.- Use skin protection cream for preventive skin protection.- Be sure to clean skin thoroughly after work and before breaks.- Take off immediately all contaminated clothing- Wash hands during breaks and at the end of the work.- Store protective clothing separately.Breathing equipment:- In case of brief exposure or low pollution use breathing filter apparatus. In case of intensive or longer exposure use breathing apparatus that is independent of circulating air.- Filter AProtection of hands:- Only use chemical-protective gloves with CE-labelling of category III (EN 374).- Heat protection gloves (in case of elevated storage- and transport temperature).Material of gloves- Nitrile rubber, NBR- Butyl rubber, BR- The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.Penetration time of glove material- The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed. For the permanent contact in work areas without heightened risk of injury (e.g. Laboratory) gloves made of the following material are suitable:- Nitril rubber, NBR- Butyl rubber, BREye protection: - Tightly sealed safety glasses.Body protection: - Protective work clothing.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methodsRecommendation
- Remove according to local authority recommendations, e.g. convey to a suitable incinerator.European waste catalogue
- The disposal of waste within the EU is regulated by Directive 2008/98/EC- The waste code classification is to be carried out according to the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) specifically for each branch of industry and each type of process.
Uncleaned packagings:
Recommendation: - Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
