Description of key information

No long-term effects on reproduction of invertebrates are expected with the test substance Isopropyl palmitate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Three long-term studies on Daphnia magna are available for the category SCAE C2 -8, markedly indicating that no chronic effects occurred up to the limit of water solubility. In all studies NOEC was > 1 mg/L.

No studies are available for Isopropyl palmitate on long-term toxicity to invertebrates. In the selected read-across study, the chronic toxicity of Isopropyl myristrate (CAS 110-27-0) to Daphnia magna was tested according to OECD 202 (Scholz 1995) at 1 and 100 mg/L (nominal). After prolonged stirring, the test substance was filtered through glass fibre filter. No effects on mortality or reproduction were detected at both test substance concentrations. Therefore, the NOEC(reproduction, 21d) is >= 100 mg/L.
