Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No effects up to the limit of water solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In general, all effect values on the microbial toxicity for the category of SCAE C2 -8 have been found well above the limit of water solubility.

No data were available for Isopropyl palmitate.

In the selected key study (read-across to Isopropyl myristate, CAS: 110-27-0), the acute toxicity of to Pseudomonas putida was tested under static conditions according to a national guideline and GLP (Coenen 1988). Nominal test substance concentrations ranged from 0.004 to 18 mg/L. After an incubation time of 18 hours, no real toxicity threshold could be determined, since all the measured extinction values were very close to the reference. Therfore, an EC50(18h) >10 mg/L was stated based on an estimated limit of water solubility.

Another read across to Isopropyl oleate (CAS 112 -11-8) was used to gain supportive information. In a GLP-guideline study according to ISO 10712, the growth inhibition of Pseudomonas putida was tested, using a water soluble fraction of 10000 mg/L nominal loading. EC50(16h) was established as >10000 mg/L (Mead 1997).
