Description of key information

Based on the available data no bioaccumulation is to be expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Due to the properties of Ammonium iron (3+) hexakis(cyano-C) ferrate(4-) as an insoluble pigment complex (< 0.02 mg/L) without lipophilic properties its bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is not expected. Furthermore due to the insolubility, a test is most likely technically not feasible. As the substance has no expected bioaccumulation potential and only very low or no concentrations are to be expected in the aquatic environment only a low exposure of aquatic organisms is given. Additional toxicokinetic data on vertebrates revealed a low potential for bioaccumulation (see IUCLID section 7.1). There are no indications of bioaccumulation since the substance was almost completely excreted after oral administration.
