First-aid measures

General advice: Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
Inhalation: Move to fresh air.
Skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of water.
Eye contact: Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water.
Ingestion: Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Dry powder, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Water spray, Alcohol-resistant foam
Further information: Cool containers / tanks with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Ensure adequate ventilation.
Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system.
Methods for cleaning up: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Handling and storage

Safe handling advice:
Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid formation of aerosol.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion:
Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Use only explosion-proof equipment.
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.
Requirements for storage areas and containers:
Keep tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. It is urgently recommended to ensure that the oldest stored material is used first
(first in - first out).
Storage classification (VCI system/Germany):
3; Flammable Liquids
Storage period:
<= 6 Months
Storage temperature:
< 25 °C
Check open containers for peroxides after 3 months. It is recommended to inertise the containers when opening.

For Exposure controls, Occupational exposure Limits and Personal protection advice please consult Safety Data Sheet.

Stability and reactivity

Hazardous decomposition products:
None known.
Thermal decomposition:
No decomposition if used as directed. Distils without decomposition at atmospheric pressure.
Hazardous reactions:
May form explosive peroxides.
Further information:
Do not open or move containers with crystals on the seal. Peroxides (that have formed) may explode.

Disposal considerations

Following pre-treatment and observing the regulations for hazardous wastes, it must be taken to a permitted hazardous wastes landfill or
hazardous wastes incinerator.
Contaminated packaging:
Contaminated packaging should be emptied optimally and after being suitably cleaned returned for re-use.
