EC number: 231-391-8 | CAS number: 7529-22-8
The sample entered a long shallow endotherm before rising up at 163°C into a very sharp exothermic reaction in which the sample temperature reaches a maximum of approx 325°C.
On completion of testing no visible sample remained. As the test material was consumed, it is most probable that this occurred during the exothermic event.
The self-ignition of the test item was determined according to EU Method A.16. Under the conditions of the test no self-ignition of NMMO was observed.
NMMO was concluded not to be auto flammable under the conditions of the EC A.16 test performed under GLP conditions (Younis 2012).
Value used for CSA: no self-ignition observed
At 163°C a sharp exothermic reaction was observed in which the sample temperature reached a maximum of approx 325°C.
