The substance Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18 unsatd., 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS 85049-37-2) is regarded as readily biodegradable according to the results 76 -81 % degradation in a CO2 evolution test (OECD 301B). This finding is further corroborated by the fact that all category members have consistently been shown to be readily biodegradable. Considering Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18 unsatd., 2-ethylhexyl esters as readily biodegradable, further simulation testing on sediment and soil is not required.
