Description of key information

Taking into consideration the guidance given in the ECHA guidance document R.7a (Endpoint specific guidance, chapter R.7.1.13), no functional groups associated with oxidising properties are present in the molecular structure of dichloromethylbenzene. Hence dichloromethylbenzene mixture is not considered to be oxidising.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the structure of the molecule and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP (1272/2008/EC) as well as in ECHA guidance document R.7a (Endpoint specific guidance, chapter R.7.1.13), dichloromethylbenzene mixture does not have to be classified with respect to oxidising properties.
