Details on results:
The mean value of the water solubility was calculated from the experimental determination using three flasks:
Flask 1: pH = 6.2 at 20.0 °C; water solubility: 10.9 mg/L
Flask 2: pH = 6.2 at 20.0 °C; water solubility: 12.2 mg/L
Flask 3: pH = 6.2 at 20.0 °C; water solubilty: 10.5 mg/L
Mean value water solubility: 11.2 mg/L

Chromatograms and a detailed description of the test conditions and results are available in the reports from BAYER AG LEVERKUSEN/ZF-DZA ANALYTIK LEV/OAL GE. O13 and from Bayer AG, ZF-D / Zentrale Analytik LE, ChemGLab.

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): slightly soluble (0.1-100 mg/L)
Dichloromethylbenzene is slightly soluble in water.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of the DCT mixture was determined according to OECD method 105 and its value is determined to be 11.2 mg/L at 20.0 °C. Hence DCT is regarded to be slightly soluble in water.

Description of key information

The water solubility of the DCT mixture is 11.2 mg/L at 20.0 °C as determined experimentally with the OECD method 105. Hence DCT is regarded to be slightly soluble in water (Schödel, Kausler 1990). This value is comparable to the water solubility range of 8 - 34 mg/L at 25 °C (20 °C for 8 mg/L) as reported in the supporting studies (Bayer, 1989; ChemIDplus, 2009; EPIWIN, 2009) for the individual DCT isomers.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
11.2 mg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C
