Additional information

In 2007, two studies were performed on Daphnia magna to determine the short term toxicity of m-(2,3 -epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3 -epoxypropyl)aniline and were considered as supporting study.

In the first experiment (SPL PROJECT NUMBER: 2345/0002 ), due to the low aqueous solubility and complex nature of the test material for the purposes of the definitive test the test material was prepared as a Water Accommodated Fraction (WAF).

The 48-Hour EL50 for the test material to Daphnia magna based on nominal loading rates was 26 mg/L loading rate WAF with 95% confidence limits of 24 - 29 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate was 18 mg/L loading rate WAF.

In the second eperiment, (SPL PROJECT NUMBER: 2345/0006, performed in 2012), the 48-Hour EC50 for the test material to Daphnia magna was determined to be 7.1 mg/L with 95% confidence limits of 6.1 - 8.2 mg/L . The No Observed Effect was 3.2 mg/L.

In the key study experiment, a 48 -h acute toxicity study, water fleas (Daphnia magna) were exposed to m-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3 -epoxypropyl)aniline under static conditions at the following nominal concentrations (final test): (blank-control), 0.10, 0.32, 1.0, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100% of the water soluble fraction prepared at 100 mg/L. The test substance did not induce significant acute immobilisation of Daphnia magna at 10 mg/L after 48 hours of exposure based on analytically confirmed nominal exposure concentrations. The 48h-EC50 was 18 mg/L based on analytically confirmed nimonal exposure concentrations (95% confidence interval between 10 and 32 mg/L) The study is conidered to be reliable without restrictions.
