Additional information

One long term study on invertebrates is available for Sulfonic acids, C14-16 (even numbered)-alkane hydroxy and C14-16 (even numbered)-alkene, sodium salts (Kuhl & Deierling, 2013).The chronic toxicity to Daphnia magna was studied with a 21 d reproduction test in a semistatic system using a test medium with high water hardness (Elendt M4 medium, hardness 250 mg/l CaCO3). The test solution was renewed 3 times per week. The 21-day NOEC was determined to be 6.3 mg/L for the tested substance with 38.5% active ingredient and 2.42 mg/L for 100% active ingredient for reproduction and survival of the adult test animals. The EC50 for the reproduction was > 6.3 mg test item/L.
