Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Sediment organism toxicity studies have not been conducted for tri(isopropyl)silyl acrylate. However, they are not required for Annex IX substances under the REACH Regulation. The registered substance hydrolyses very rapidly to tris(1-methylethyl)silanol and acrylic acid.

Tris(1-methylethyl)silanol has a log Kow value of 3.9. Therefore, the need for further testing is assessed by deriving a PNEC from the Equilibrium Partitioning method (EqP) and deriving a risk characterisation by deriving a PEC/PNEC ratio (see Section 10).

Acrylic acid has a log Kow value of 0.46 at 25°C for the molecular form and -2.3 for the ionised form present at pH 7, and therefore further consideration of the sediment compartment is not required.
