Additional information

The requirement to test the submission substance for n-octanol/water partition coefficient is waived because in contact with water chloro(dimethyl)vinylsilane hydrolyses very rapidly to form dimethyl(vinyl)silanol and hydrochloric acid.

The log Kow of the silanol hydrolysis product, dimethyl(vinyl)silanol has been calculated to be 1.5 at 20°C using a validated QSAR estimation method. The determination of log Kow for hydrochloric acid is not relevant being inorganic.
