Description of key information
The substance is a non flammable liquid..
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.
The substance is not a self-reactive substance or mixture.
The substance is not a self-heating substance or mixture.
The substance is not an organic peroxide.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flammability:
- non flammable
Additional information
Flammability derived from flash point. The flash point was determined to be 76 °C at 1013 hPa. Thus the substance has not to be classified as flammable liquid.
Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not expected.
The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-reactive as there are no chemical groups present in the molecule associated with explosive or self reactive properties.
The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as self-heating as the substance is a liquid.
The substance or mixture does not need to be classified as an organic peroxide as by definition based on their chemical structure the substance is no organic peroxide.
Justification for classification or non-classification
Dangerous Substance Directive (67/548/EEC)
Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Directive 67/548/EEC, as amended for the 31st time in Directive 2009/2/EG, the substance is not considered to be classified as flammable, flammable in contact with water or pyrophoric.
Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008
Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008, as amended for the sixth time in Directive EC 605/2014, the substance is not considered to be classified as flammable, flammable in contact with water, pyrophoric, self-reactive substance, self-heating substance or organic peroxide.
