Based on the presented results. The substance has to be scored as harmful towards aquatic organisms. Data on aquatic effects of the substance are available on three trophic levels (fish, daphnia and algae) for acute toxicity. The most sensitive toxicity was observed for daphnids.

Dapnia: 48h-EL50 3.8 mg/L

Fish : 96 h-LL 48.8 mg/L

Algae: 72h- EL50 128 mg/L

For algae also a chronic value is availabe: 72h-NOEC 22 mg/L.

Water Accommodated Fractions (WAFs) were produced to test the effects at different loading rates and all results are expressed in terms of Effective Loadings (EL) and in terms of Lethal Loadings (LL).

The effect of the substance towards the growth of activated sludge was investigated according to EU Method C.11 (Biodegradation: Activated Sludge Respiration Inhibition Test) having an EC50(3 h) of > 1000 mg/L. Therefore, an adverse effect towards microorganisms and thus the cleaning capacity of sewage treatment plants is not expected.
