Description of key information

The substance is readily soluble in water at ambient temperature.
The pH of the saturated solution is 12.9.

A fully reliable experimental study was conducted on the substance in water at 20°C.

Several other data are provided by internal data or literature, with very little scientific information on method (i.e. validity not assignable), supporting high aqueous solubility of hexamethylenediamine. Difference in numerical results can be explained by the physical state of the substance, which is a mass crystallised solid at ambient temperature, therefore, for highly-concentrated aqueous solutions, solubility can be likened to a cloud point.

Based on pKa, hexamethylenediamine will be fully inonised at environmentally-relevant pH range, so no additional data on solubility as a function of pH is deemed necessary.
