The Long Chain Aliphatic Esters (LCAE) category members are considered to be readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria. The category members are thus expected to be rapidly degraded by microorganisms in both the aquatic and terrestrial environments as well, and therefore in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, column 2, 9.2.1.2. - 9.2.1.4., further simulation tests for water and sediment or soil biodegradation are not necessary.
