Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One non-GLP (DIN/ISO 9001) Guideline study according to ISO 10708 investigating the ready biodegradability of fatty acids, C16-18, 2-hexyldecyl esters (CAS 101227-09-2) is available (Richterich, 2001). The study was performed using activated sludge from a domestic sewage treatment plant as inoculum. A test substance concentration of 100 mg/L (based on ThOD/L) was degraded to an extent of 90% (mean) based on the O2 consumption. Therefore, the substance is readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria (biodegradation > 60% after 28 d, and the fulfilment of the 14 d window).
