Justification for type of information:
This substance is considered to have a Soil Hazard Category 1 classification as it is readily biodegradable and has a log Kow of <3. The screening soil assessment in ECHA (2017) Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, chapter R7b: endpoint specific guidance indicates that soil toxicity testing isn't required. In addition, benzene is only registered as an intermediate under Strictly Control Conditions (SCC) and therefore no further testing is required.
