Description of key information

Low potential for adsorption is expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
3.162

Additional information

According to column 2 of Annex VIII of the REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006), the study on adsorption/desorption does not to be conducted if the physicochemical properties of the test item indicate low adsorpton potential, such as a low octanol/water partition coefficient. As test item has a log Kow < 0 and a high water solubility, it can be concluded that the substance has a low adsorption potential and the study on adsorption/desorption is not run.

A default value for Koc of non-hydrophobic substances is proposed by EUSES 2.2.0; this value is 3.162 l/kg and it is used in the chemical safety assessment.
