A test on aquatic algae was not run, as the test substance produces strongly coloured solutions. In such cases, it is difficult to distinguish between effects on algae due to a inherent toxicity of the substance and/or due to a shadow effect caused by the colouration. Accordingly, a test on lemna is believed as more suitable.
