Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, a study according to methods O.2 (UN-Manual of Testing) or A.21 (EUmethod) does not need to be conducted as the substance does not contain a chemical moiety suggesting an oxidising potential.

According to 2.13.4.1 of Annex I to the CLP Regulation, an organic liquid does not have to be assessed for oxidising properties if:

a) the substance does not contain oxygen, fluorine or chlorine; or

b) the substance contains oxygen, fluorine or chlorine and these elements are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen

BAB complies with indent a).

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the chemical structure and the additional classification considerations given in the Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, Chapter 2.13.4. It can be excluded beyond reasonable doubt that substance has oxidising properties.
