Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Inform doctor immediately Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes out thoroughly with water; seek medical attention from an eye specialist Emergency measure - Skin: Wash off skin immediately with large quantities of soap and water. Emergency measure - Ingestion: Inform the emergency doctor immediately
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Directed water spray, carbon dioxide, extinguishing powder, foam, sand. Fight fire at the point of origin as far as this is possible without risk. Take measures to retain product and extinguishing water. Product arising from burning:
Hydrogen cyanide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides Product determined by test: N Protective equipment:
Wear respiratory protection. In well-ventilated areas: full face mask with combination filter, e.g. ABEK-P2 (does not protect against carbon monoxide!). In closed rooms: isolated device (self-contained respirator).
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage:
Take up spilled good using dust-binding sweeping agents or suitable vacuum cleaner (e.g. explosion-proof industrial vacuum cleaner). Avoid the formation of dust. Fill into labelled, closable containers and take to an authorized incineration plant. Ensure sufficient ventilation/exhaust ventilation. Keep uninvolved persons away. Observe the precautionary measures recommended under "handling". Do not allow to enter aquatic environments, waste waters or the soil. Dispose of the waste containers according to the local official rules, e.g. by controlled incineration.
Handling and storage
Handling:
Take care to observe the precautionary measures usually taken when handling chemicals. Suitable working clothes, chemical protective gloves and goggles must be worn during all work processes in which the possibility of skin or eye contact exists. Contact with the skin and the eyes as well as the inhalation of dusts must be avoided. If technical exhaust ventilation or ventilation measures are not possible or are insufficient, respiratory protection (e.g. ...) should be worn. The working clothes must be kept separate, highly contaminated or saturated clothing must be changed. Wash hands before work-breaks and at the end of work. In the case of handling in open systems prevent the spread of dusts by means of local exhaust ventilation in accordance with Technical Rule 420. The extracted air should only be returned to the working area after sufficient cleaning with tested equipment. Take precautions to prevent the formation of explosive mixtures. Keep away ignition sources - do not smoke. Observe the explosion protection guideline produced by the German Statutory Accident Insurance Institution for the chemical industry. Take measures to retain product and extinguishing water.
Storage:
The product must be stored in a cool place, dry and in tightly closed original packing drums. Storerooms must be maintained according to the principles of good industrial hygiene. If a packing drum is opened it must be closed tightly again. Product residues on the packing drums must be avoided. The substance must be stored so that outsiders do not have access to it. Keep away from foods, drinks and feedstuffs. Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Ableitfähige Big-Bags mit PE-Inliner.

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Transport:
Proper internal and external transportation is ensured by observing the measures usually taken when transporting corresponding products, i.e. the use of suitable packing drums, securing against falling and labelling according to the regulations. Packaging by the producer is undertaken using packaging materials which with regard to their leakproofness and strength are suitable for products with a higher risk potential. It ensures that transportation takes place under the usual conditions without risk for the packing drums. In the case of in-company transportation, opened packing drums must be kept carefully closed in order to avoid spillage. Keep separate from food, tobacco and alcohol.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Manufacture and use of this chemical intermediate takes place under strictly controlled conditions, as described in Art. 17/18 REACH. The substance is rigorously contained during manufacturing and use and appropriate risk management measures including PPE (i.g. during charging or sampling) are applied. Occupational exposure is reduced to a minimum and well controlled by measurements. A management system covering all general aspects of a chemical production is in place, especially cleaning and maintenance of plants and equipment. An authorisation scheme based on instructions covering the whole process ensures that only trained and authorised staff handles the substance.
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire:
Exothermal reaction at 185 °C and above (DTA) Chemical reaction with water:
No hazardous reaction Dust explosion:
The occurrence of mixtures with a potential to cause a dust explosion must be expected in the case of all organic, powdery substances. Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling:
Check possibility of reutilization. If not possible, thermal disposal. In the case of large quantities: consult the producer Industry - Possibility of neutralisation:
No data Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge:
Not recommended Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Code: 663 Incineration at high temperatures - prolonged incineration with flue-gas scrubbing (minimum temperature of 1200 °C, a minimum retention time of 2 secs, excess oxygen). Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification:
Inapplicable Industry - Possibility of destruction - other:
Inapplicable Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling:
If used as intended, the substance does not occur in the public domain.
