Description of key information

- The substance has a high flashpoint (103°C) and a boiling point of >230°C not indicating flammability.

- As the substance does not contain metals or metalloids and as experience in handling and use shows that the substance or mixture does not react with water, the substance does not emit flammable gases when in contact with water.

- The substance is not considered to be a self-heating substance as the substance is a liquid and the surface of liquids is not large enough for reaction with air.

- The substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, is does not have pyrophoric properties.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance as such being a liquid, is not considered flammable because its flash point is > 60 °C. In addition, the substance is not considered flammable in contact with water or pyrophoric based on the results above. Therefore classification is not necessary in accordance with EU CLP (EC 1272/2008 and its amendments).
