Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the substance was investigated using the Transpiration method equivalent to the OECD TG 104, gas saturation method. The vapour pressure of the substance was found to be 2.72 Pa at 23 °C.

Two Vapour pressure studies were conducted for the substance: 1) The vapour pressure of the substance was investigated using the Transpiration method equivalent to OECD TG 104, gas saturation method. The vapour pressure of the substance was found to be 2.72 Pa at 23°C; 2) The vapour pressure of the substance is according to OECD TG 104 using the static method and results in a value of 80 Pa at 25 °C. The result for the substance tested with the transpiration method (gas saturation method) is considered to be more reliable compared to the result with the static method. This is because the transpiration method is a more up to date method using GC analysis. It is also more accurate and not influenced by vapour pressures of impurities as in a static method. The substance as such is identified in the GC analysis. The substance is in the applicability domain of this tranpiration/gas saturation method which ranges from 0.00001 to 1000 Pa and the substance has an estimated volatility of around 10 Pa (using the MPBPVP QSAR of EpiSuite, resulting in 2.93 Pa). Therefore the information from the transpiration/gas saturation method is used as key value for the risk assessment.
