Effects on developmental toxicity

Description of key information

No developmental toxicity studies have been conducted with trimethoxysilane as this is a transported isolated intermediate (Annex VII dossier).

The substance is a highly reactive toxicant, it is unlikely to reach the reproductive organs or the embryo/fetus and result in toxicity.

Furthermore, reliable measured data are available for the ultimate hydrolysis product, silicic acid, which indicate no hazard for systemic toxicity.

Effect on developmental toxicity: via oral route
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Effect on developmental toxicity: via inhalation route
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Effect on developmental toxicity: via dermal route
