Description of key information

In a static growth inhibition test freshwater green alga were exposed to the test item for 72 hours according to guideline-conform study under GLP. The EC50 value was determined to be 4.54 mg/L, EC10 value was determined to be 0.93mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
4.54 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
0.93 mg/L

Additional information

In this study, 1,4 Butanediol Divinyl Ether was found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata over the period of 72 hours. The EC50-value for inhibition of specific growth rate (ErC50) after 72 hours was 4.54 mg test item/L, the EC20- and EC10-values were determined to be 1.70 and 0.930 mg test item/L, respectively. All effect values are based on nominal concentrations of the test item.
