Capillary/metal block method

The test substance turned from a white into a brown solid. The gradual color change was noted between 275 and 320°C. No liquid phase was observed.

 

TGA

Over 50% weight loss was measured between 275°C and 325°C. There was 70% loss of weight at 650°C. A charred residue left in the sample pan after the experiment.

 

DSC

The DSC curves showed peaks at 315°C with onsets at 308°C.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
In a OECD 102 guideline study using the capillary/metal block method, decomposition of the substance started at ca. 275°C with the major decomposition at ca. 300°C. No melting before decomposition. TGA and DSC measurements confirmed the decomposition of the substance.
