Description of key information

Acute Daphnia toxicity under static conditions
Testing facility: Bayer Industry Services, Leverkusen
Study no. 2006/0035/05 performed on May 5, 2006.
The study was conducted in accordance with EEC Methods for Determination of Ecotoxicity Annex to Directive 92/69/EEC Part C, Method 2 Acute Toxicity for Daphnia which is in most parts equivalent to the OECD no. 202 Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilisation Test .
The registrant has a Letter of Access.

Additional information

The Daphnia were exposed to a lrange of concentrations, nominally 0.8, 1.6, 3.2, 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mg/l dissolved in water. Auxiliaries used to prepare the test media were an ultrasonic bath , a magnetic stirrer and a folded filter. Observations were made on the swimming ability and the immobilisation rate, respectively, after 24 and 48 hours of exposure. The following values were determined:

EC50 (24 h) > 100 mg/l

EC50 (48 h) > 100 mg/l

Highest test concentration resulting in 0% immobilisation (EC0 48h): ≥ 100 mg/l.

The results are expressed in terms of nominal concentrations.

The hardness of the dilution water used was 15.4 °dH (= 274.9 mg/L CaCO3).
