Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The logPow of the test substance was determined with HPLC using reference substances according to OECD 117. The logPow was > 6.5 (all components had an elution time > 24 min)(Harlan 2013)
Calculations with KOWWIN 1.67 on C12-components gave a log Pow of 8.3-12.2 (Harlan 2013).
Calculations with KOWWIN 1.67 on C16 and C18-components (component with the lowest logPow in Harlan test) gave a log Pow of 12.2 and 14.2 for the C16 and C18 component respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
6.5

Additional information

The value from the HPLC study is expected to be an underestimation of the logPow. The actual value is expected to be much higher in view of the model results and the fact that in a worst case C12 components were modelled. For components with a longer C-chain the calculated values would be even higher, as was shown in two additional calculations

In a worst case approach the value of 6.5 will be used in risk assessment, but the actual logPow of the main components is expected to be > 10..
