Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No flash point was observed up to the boiling temperature of the test item, at ca 107°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

As the substance is a liquid, the relevant test for flammable properties (as such) is the flash point measurement. A fully reliable experimental study is presented under point 4.11.

In accordance with section 1 of REACh Annex XI, studies for flammability if contact with water, and for pyrophoric properties, are deemed unnecessary based on the chemical structures of the components that do not fall into critical categories described in ECHA guidance, and based on the experience in handling and use of the substance, considered in the CLP exemption criteria:

- it does not ignite spontaneously on coming into contact with air at normal temperatures (i.e. the substance is known to be stable at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days))

- it is manufactured as an aqueous solution, and known to be stable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) criteria, no flash point was observed at the upper threshold value of 60°C, therefore the substance is NOT considered as a flammable liquid.
