Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
2 min
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Any other information on results incl. tables

In contact with the flame of the gas burner the test material melted and turned into a light brown residue. Grey smoke was observed. After removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion was observed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
other: 'not highly flammable' by ignition
Conclusions:
In a GLP-compliant study performed in accordance with UN-MTC Section 33.2.1 (Test N.1) and EC A.10, Phthalyl-L-Glu has been determined to be 'not highly flammable' by ignition.
