Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on results obtained in GLP-compliant studies performed in accordance with EC.A10, the substance was determined to be not a flammable solid. In expert statements it was concluded that the substance has no pyrophoric properties and is ‘not highly flammable’ in contact with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

As the preliminary screening test of the UN MTC N.1 test is essentially the same as the preliminary screening test of the EC A.10 test, the EC A.10 test result can be used for CLP classification and therefore no burning rate test is needed. The substance was found to propagate combustion, but not within the critical time limits of the EC and UN tests.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Because the substance is not flammable upon ignition, classification as a flammable solid is not necessary. Based on expert statements, the substance does not have to be classified as a pyrophoric solid or as a substance which in contact with water emits flammable gases.
