Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In a 3 h activated sludge respiration inhibition study conducted according to OECD guideline 209, microorganisms in activated sludge were exposed to MDI/CHA. The EC50 and EC10 were >100 mg/L based on nominal concentrations. The study is considered to be reliable without restrictions. However, due to the very low water solubility (<1 mg/L), concentration levels that might be toxic to aerobic bacteria could not be reached.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

In a 3 h activated sludge respiration inhibition study conducted according to OECD guideline 209, microorganisms in activated sludge were exposed to MDI/CHA at the following nominal concentrations (limit test): 0 (blank control) and 100 mg/L (loading rate). The EC50 and EC10 were >100 mg/L based on nominal concentrations. The study is considered to be reliable without restrictions. However, due to the very low water solubility (<1 mg/L), concentration levels that might be toxic to aerobic bacteria could not be reached.
