Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

A chemical safety assessment and chemical safety report according to Art. 14 REACH is not required for the registration of a substance in tonnage band 1-10 tonnes. Therefore no DNELs have been derived for this substance.

Acute Toxicity

The variation L174 was tested for acute oral toxicity in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 423 and was tested for acute dermal toxicity in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 402.

L174 did not exhibit any acute toxicity neither via the oral nor the dermal route of exposure.

The same toxicological profile is expected for other variations of the substance lutetium aluminium oxide, cerium doped, garnet.

Irritation / Corrosion

The variation L174 was tested for the potential to cause skin irritation in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 404.

The substance did not exhibit skin irritation or skin corrosion.

The same profile is expected for other variations of the substance lutetium aluminium oxide, cerium doped, garnet.

The variation L174 was tested for the potential to cause eye irritation in a GLP guideline studies according to OECD 405.

L174 did not exhibit eye irritation or eye corrosion.

The same irritation/corrosion profile is expected for other variations of the substance lutetium aluminium oxide, cerium doped, garnet.

Sensitisation

The variation L174 was tested for its skin sensitising potential in GLP guideline studies according to OECD 429 (modified).

L174 did not reveal any sensitising properties in the local lymph node assay (modified).

The same sensitising profile is expected for other variations of the substance lutetium aluminium oxide, cerium doped, garnet.

Genetic Toxicity

The variation L174 was tested for genetic toxicity in vitro.

The substance is completely insoluble in water, DMSO, ethanol, acetone, tetrahydrofurane or isopropanol. The substance is not bioavailable for the bacterial cell in the Ames test or other in vitro test methods due to its insolubility. The substance is not capable of interfering with the genome in the bacterial cell. Hence, the Ames-test is negative as a basic principle.

The same applies for potential mutagenic activity under natural conditions for L74 as well as other variations of the substance lutetium aluminium oxide, cerium doped, garnet.

Based on the data available no classification is required.
