Additional information

Based on the findings from O.E.C.D. Test Guideline acute studies conducted on fish, Daphnia and algae, 2 -Acetone polymer with phenol (BPA-Tars) is toxic to aquatic organisms. BPA-Tars is not anticipated to inhibit biodegradation in Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) based on the results from an O.E.C.D. 209 Activated Sludge Respiration Inhibition Test.

Conclusion on classification

2 -Acetone polymer with phenol (BPA-Tars) induced a LC50 value of 4.95 mg/L from 24 to 96 hr of exposure in an O.E.C.D. Test Guideline 203 study with Zebrafish. Therefore, BPA-Tars is "Toxic to aquatic organisms".
