Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

AAA reaction product is a complex mixture of different monomers, dimers, trimers and polymers. QSAR based estimates for the acid- and base-catalysed hydrolysis rate indicates that AAA reaction product will not hydrolyse in an slightly acidic to neutral aquatic environment (pH 4 to pH 7). Under these conditions both ester and amide type functinal groups of dimers, trimers and polymers of AAA reaction product are estimated to be hydrolytically stable.

Information on storage stability is attached.

Under alkine conditions of pH 8 to pH 9, only ester type functional groups of trimellitic acid with diethanolamine are expected to be hydrolysed. Amides and esters of tetrahydrophtalic acid are estimated to be stable at these pHs. Hydrolysis of mixed ester/amide trimers will lead to stable amide linked dimers, diethanolamine and trimellitic acid as products. Ester linked dimers and trimers of trimellitic acid with diethanolamine are expected to hydrolyse to the corresponding monomers with estimated half- lifes of about 0.5 to 3 days at pH 9 and about 5 to 30 days at pH 8.
