Description of key information

With high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A non-GLP, static, acute toxicity study was performed with Daphnia magna according to EU Method C.2 (BASF AG 1988, report no. 1/0947/2/88 -0947/88).

The reported nominal 48 -h EC50 of the test substance on Daphnia magna was > 500 mg/L (no analyitical verification of the test concentrations). This was the highest tested concentration and only 4 out of 20 animals were immobilized.

Therefore, 3 -dimethylaminopropionitrile is considered to be with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
