Additional information

3-Dimethylaminopropionitrile was tested in the Ames test for its potential for gene mutation in bacteria, following OECD guideline 471 (BASF 1989). The substance was negative in all tested strains (S. typhimurium TA 1535, TA 1537, TA 98 and TA 100) with and without metabolic activation in the Standard Plate Test and in the Preincubation Test. No further data are available

Short description of key information:
According to the available information 3-dimethylaminopropionitrile is supposed to be non mutagenic

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the available information, there is no need to classify 3-Dimethylaminopropionitrile for its mutagenic potential.
