- other: Based on the molecular structure it could be concluded that the substance does not have oxidizing properties
- Interpretation of results:
- GHS criteria not met
- Conclusions:
- It is concluded that the substance T001036 does not have oxidising properties.
- Endpoint:
- oxidising solids
- Data waiving:
- study scientifically not necessary / other information available
- Justification for data waiving:
- the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Referenceopen allclose all
None of the components of the test item does contain groups that act as an oxidising agent. The oxygen and halogen atoms that are present in the molecular structure of the test item are chemically bonded to carbon or hydrogen. The molecular structures of any impurities =<1% were not taken into account. Therefore, JNJ-119717-AAA (T001036) has no oxidising properties.
Description of key information
Based on a GLP study (WIL Research Europe, 2016), T001036 is considered not to contain any chemical groups indicating oxidising properties as the oxygen and halogen atoms present in the molecule are chemically bounded solely to carbon and hydrogen. Further testing was omitted and T001036 is concluded to be incapable of causing fire or enhancing the risk of fire when in contact with combustible material.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Oxidising properties:
- non oxidising
Additional information
Justification for classification or non-classification
The substance does not need to be classified as an oxidising substance as based on the chemical structure the substance does not contain any chemical groups indicative of oxidising properties.
