Description of key information

The vapor pressure of FC-72 at 20 °C is 178.3 mm Hg (23.77 kPa) (ASTM E1719-97).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In the key study, the vapor pressure of FC-72 was measured under method ASTM E1719-97 (Vapor Pressure of Liquids by Ebulliometry). The study was not conducted in accord with GLP guidelines. Therefore, the study is classified as acceptable with restrictions. In a supporting study of two purified isomers of the FC-72 mixture, a vapor pressure of 217.9 mm Hg at 24.90 °C was reported for perfluoro-n-hexane and a vapor pressure of 206.0 mm Hg at 23.82 °C was reported for perfluoro-2-methylpentane. A third study reported a vapor pressure of 30.9 x 10E3 Pa at 25 °C for FC-72. However, due to few details available, neither supporting study cannot be classified as to its reliability.
