Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: A non GLP test has been performed according to ASTM D850. This method has been used by Merisol for 40 years to assess quality control of products where boiling range is critical.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: ASTM D850
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling point/boiling range)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
ASTM D850, a carefully controlled distillation of aromatic hydrocarbons and related materials is carried out wherein temperature readings are taken at the initial drop of distillate and at intervals up to and including the dry point - defined as when the liquid just disappears from the flask. A calibrated ASTM distillation thermometer is used. Results are reported at 760 mm Hg.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
distillation method
Key result
Boiling pt.:
>= 216 - <= 220 °C
Atm. press.:
760 mm Hg
Decomposition:
no
