The test item burned in contact with the flame of the gas burner emitting yellow sparks and then turned into a light yellow residue. After removal of the ignition source, no propagation of combustion of the test item was observed.

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information Not highly flammable
Conclusions:
The preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of (1,2-Dioxoethylen)bis(iminoethylen)bis[3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionat].
No propagation of combustion of the test item along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines,
performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obtained, the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.
Executive summary:

The purpose of this study was to determine the flammability of the test substance of (1,2-

Dioxoethylen)bis(iminoethylen)bis[3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionat] in accordance with:

European Community (EC), EC no. 440/2008, Part A: Methods for the Determination of Physico- Chemical Properties, Guideline A.10: “Flammability (Solids)”, Official Journal of the European Union no. L142, May 31, 2008.

United Nations (UN), UN no. ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.5: Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Part III: Classification Procedures, Test Methods and Criteria Relating to Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Division 5.1, Class 8 and Class 9, Test N.1: “Test Method for Readily Combustible Solids”, 2009.

The results of the study showed no propagation of combustion of the test item along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines, performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obtained, the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Description of key information

The preliminary screening test was performed for the determination of the flammability of (1,2-

Dioxoethylen)bis(iminoethylen)bis[3-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionat].

No propagation of combustion of the test item along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines,

performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obtained, the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

The results of the study showed no propagation of combustion of the test item along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines, performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obtained, the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No propagation of combustion of the test item along 200 mm length of the pile within 4 minutes was observed. According to the guidelines, performance of the burning rate test is not required. Based on the results obtained, the test item is considered ‘not highly flammable’. No classification is applicable.
