Additional information

The test item is a complex, surface active, UVCB with a low vapour pressure (0.013 Pa at 25 °C) and is poorly soluble (approximately 10 mg/L at 20 ± 0.5 °C). However, components of the UVCB substance exist as ion pairs and consideration of the overall body of data for the test item suggests that environmental effects are best represented by the presence of a particular organic amine cation [EC 273-279-1]. For this reason, behaviour of the organic amine has been modelled.

The calculated Henry's Constant of 23.0 to 47.2 Pa.m3/moL indicates that the amine has a tendency to partition to air whilst the estimated Log Koc of 3.80 shows that the material will absorb to organic material and therefore be less mobile in soil. The Level III Fugacity Model confirms that volatilisation to air will be the weaker effect and that approximately 86 % of the environmentally relevant amine will partition to soil.
