Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention.
Skin contact: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water (using soap, if available). Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.
Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Give a conscious person several glasses of water. Get medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: Water spray (fog), foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide
Special fire fighting procedures: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing, such as turn-out gear.
Unusual fire or explosion hazards: In the event of fire, cool tanks with water spray.
Hazardous combustion products: Oxides of carbon. Irritating organic vapors. Toxic fumes

Accidental release measures

Environmental precautions: Prevent product from entering drains or open waters
Clean-up methods: Evacuate and ventilate spill area; dike spill to prevent entry into water system; wear full protective equipment during clean-up. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Keep in suitable and closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: Use only with adequate ventilation. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Prevent contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not breathe vapor and mist. Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep away from heat, spark and flame. For operations where eye or face contact could occur, provide safety shower and eyewash fountain.
Storage: Keep in a cool, well ventilated area away from heat, sparks and open flame. Keep container tightly closed until ready for use.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Protection Engeneering controls: Use local exhaust ventilation if the potential for airborne exposure exists.
Respiratory protection: Use a respirator if ventilation is inadequate.
Skin protection: Use chemical resistant, impermeable clothing including gloves and either an apron or body suit to prevent skin contact.
Eye/face protection: Chemical splash goggles or safety glasses with side shields. In a splash hazard environment, chemical goggles should be used in combination with a full face shield. An eyewash and safety shower should be nearby and ready for use.

Stability and reactivity

Stability: Stable under normal conditions of storage and use.
Hazardous polymerization: None under normal processing.
Hazardous decomposition products: None under normal use
Incompatability: Strong oxidizing agents. Strong acids and strong bases.
Conditions to avoid: Storage with incompatible materials. Heat is generated when mixed with epoxy resin. Use caution
when mixing large quantities. Heat, flames, sparks and other sources of ignition.

Disposal considerations

Recommendation: waste incineration with the approval of the responnsible local authority.
