Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Estimated global solubility of ca 569 mg oil/L (1 g/L loading rate)
Major components ranging between 2 and 3500 mg/L at ambient temperature (literature and QSAR).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No study was conducted on the oil itself, but measurement performed on a 90% saturated solution provides an estimated global solubility, based on DOC, of ca 569 mg/L for a 1 g/L loading rate.

In a Weight of Evidence approach, literature provided data also for four of the five major components:

- cineole WS ca 3500 mg/L,

- alpha-pinene, WS ca 1.97 mg/L,

- limonene WS ca 2.73 mg/L,

- alpha-terpineol, WS ca 710 mg/L (at 20-25°C).

For viridiflorol, no literature data was available, so the dataset was completed with a valid QSAR estimation: WS ca 6.48 mg/L.

As no CSA is required for the tonnage band of concern, no key value was retained (nor calculated weighted WS nor worst-case).

Moreover, as a UVCB with constituents of different solubility, the global solubility of the oil will depend on the loading rate (with varying ratio of constituents in the dissolved phase).
