Additional information

A GLP-compliant, guideline study is available for this endpoint (Harlan Laboratories 2011) and is considered suitable for use as the key study. Self heating was assessed using a modified test method based on UN test N4 and EU method A16, which is considered to produce equally robust results as the standard method but uses less volume of test substance. Due to the limited availability and high cost of the test material, which may not always be manufactured on a regular basis, this modified method was used.
