Description of key information

Performance of a bioaccumulation study in aquatic or sediment species is not required due to the low log Kow of the substance.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, a bioaccumulation study in aquatic or sediment species does not have to be conducted because isobutyl-(R)-lactate has a low octanol-water partition coefficient (log Kow < 3), thus a low potential for bioaccumulation.
