Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice:
Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
Immediate medical attention is not required.
Inhalation:
Supply fresh air. Get medical attention.
Skin contact:
Wash off immediately with plenty of water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Instantly remove any clothing soiled by the product. Get medical attention if irritation develops and/or persists.
Eye contact:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.
Ingestion:
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention.
Major effects of exposure:
Causes serious eye and skin irritation.
Protection of first-aiders:
Wear personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe fumes.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media:
Water spray, carbon dioxide (CO2), dry powder, AFFF, firefighting foam.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:
Water with a full water jet.
Specific hazards:
Formation of toxic fumes/gases is possible during heating or in case of fire.
Special protective equipment for firefighters:
Do not inhale explosion or combustion gases. Use personal protective equipment including breathing filter apparatus that is independent of circulating air.
Specific methods:
Standard procedure for chemical fires. Cool endangered containers with water spray jet.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions:
Use personal protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
Environmental precautions:
Prevent further leakage or spillage.
Dilute with much water.
Methods for cleaning up:
Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, universal binder, sawdust).
Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. Ensure adequate ventilation.
After cleaning, flush away traces with water.
Handling and storage
Handling
Technical measures/precautions:
Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Prevent formation of aerosols.
Keep ignition sources away - do not smoke.
Protect from heat.
Safe handling advice:
Wear personal protective equipment.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not inhale gases/fumes/aerosols.
Storage
Technical measures/Storage conditions:
Store cool in tightly closed containers.
Incompatible products:
None.
Packaging material:
Steel or polyethylene containers.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures to reduce exposure:
Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Make available emerging shower and eye wash at the work place.
Control parameters:
None.
Personal protection equipment
Respiratory protection:
In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment.
In case of brief exposure or low pollution use breathing filter apparatus. In case of intensive or longer exposure use breathing apparatus that is independent of circulating air.
Hand protection:
Solvent-resistant gloves (PVA/H4). Breakthrough time > 8 hours.
Eye protection:
Safety glasses with side-shields.
Skin and body protection:
Lightweight protective clothing.
Hygiene measures:
When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Keep away from foodstuff, beverages and feed. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of the work. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale gases/fumes/aerosols.
Stability and reactivity
Stability:
Stable at normal conditions. Hazardous polymerisation does not occur.
Conditions to avoid:
Protect from heat.
Materials to avoid:
Not known.
Hazardous decomposition products:
Carbon oxides.
Disposal considerations
Waste from residues/unused product:
Can be incinerated, when in compliance with local regulations. Must not be disposed of together with household waste. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.
Contaminated packaging:
Clean container with water.
Empty containers should be taken for local recycling, recovery or waste disposal.
Further information:
According to the European Waste Catalogue, Waste Codes are not product specific, but application specific. Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.
