Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

One key study completed on the substance; klimisch 1, EU method and per GLP.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
1 yr
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Estimated half-life values at pH 4 and pH 7 originated from the absence of significant hydrolysis during the preliminary test performed at 50 °C. Hydrolysis/degradation was observed at pH 9 during the preliminary test, however on testing at lower temperatures, an additional thermal influence was identified. This secondary process allowed for a period of initial stability, which was extended as the test temperature decreased, before hydrolysis/degradation occurred. The nature of this mechanism resulted in quantification/prediction of the pH 9 aqueous half-life being beyond the scope of the referenced regulatory methods.
